Dr. Christian Stab worked four years as a full-time researcher and project manager at the Fraunhofer Institute for Computer Graphics Research. He got his Ph.D. in computer science in February 2017. His contributions in argument mining have substantially shaped this young research field. His data sets were not only an important milestone for formalizing common tasks, but also find numerous applications in the scientific community for training and evaluating machine learning methods. His research in Argument Mining has been awarded with the international and highly competitive “IBM Ph.D. Fellowship Award" in 2016. Currently, he coordinates the ArgumenText project aimed at validating argument mining technologies and transferring them into industrial applications.
