Fondazione Bruno Kessler is situated in Trentino, a province in northern Italy governed under a special autonomy statute.
FBK was created on 1 March 2007 and inherits the activities of the Istituto Trentino di Cultura (founded in 1962, based on the ideas of Bruno Kessler, a long-time member of the local government and founder of the University of Trento).
FBK and its Center for Scientific and Technological Research of FBK has more than 300 researchers, conducts studies in the areas of Information Technology and Materials and Microsystems.
