2023 was a very interesting and challenging year for the language and content industries where the latest progress of artificial intelligence (AI) made many people react and sometimes overreact. Specifically, generative artificial intelligence (Gen AI) was in the mind of everyone while humans were in the heart of everybody. On the one hand, this game-changing technology triggered a wave of hype and excitement which led a number of people to put it to the test and experiment it at work or at home. On the other hand, Gen AI made a number of people skeptical or scared as they considered it a silent killer of (their) human tasks in the linguistic and creative fields. We are now in 2024. So we can look back at this binary perception of AI and learn lessons that are actually not-so-new, yet still matter to initiate or accelerate content strategies that are user-friendly and customer-centered.
